Common Questions
FAQs
Answers to frequently asked questions about installation, durability, maintenance, and estimates.
What types of floors do you coat?
We provide professional floor coating systems for garages, basements, patios, porches, walkways, and commercial spaces. Depending on the application, we use epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic, and decorative flake systems designed for durability and long-term performance.
What is the difference between epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic?
Each system has different properties and applications. Epoxy provides excellent adhesion and a durable, attractive finish. Polyurea offers excellent flexibility and fast curing, making it well suited for many concrete coating applications. Polyaspartic is commonly used as a high-performance topcoat because of its durability, chemical resistance, and UV stability. We select the appropriate system based on the condition of the concrete and the specific project.
How long does a typical floor coating project take?
Many residential floor coating projects can be completed in one to two days, depending on the size and condition of the concrete, the repair work required, and the coating system selected. We will explain the expected timeline during your estimate.
How durable are your floor coatings?
Our coating systems are designed for demanding residential and commercial environments. With proper concrete preparation and the appropriate coating system, your floor can provide excellent resistance to vehicle traffic, abrasion, chemicals, stains, and everyday wear.
Do you repair concrete before applying the coating?
Yes. Proper preparation is one of the most important parts of a long-lasting floor coating. We can address cracks, damaged areas, surface imperfections, and other concrete conditions before applying the coating system. Depending on the condition, preparation may include diamond grinding, crack repair, patching, and removal of existing coatings.
Do you repair damaged garage floors, driveways, and patios?
Yes. We provide concrete repair and surface preparation for garages, driveways, patios, and other concrete surfaces. We evaluate the condition of the concrete and recommend the appropriate repair and coating solution for the project.
Can you repair cracks in concrete floors?
Yes. We repair appropriate concrete and floor cracks as part of our preparation and repair services. The repair method depends on the type, size, location, and condition of the crack.
Do you repair foundation cracks?
We provide foundation crack repair for appropriate applications, including epoxy patching and injection or polyurethane injection systems. The appropriate method depends on the characteristics of the crack and the repair requirements. We focus on the crack repair itself and do not represent our service as general structural foundation repair.
What is the difference between epoxy and polyurethane crack injection?
The appropriate material depends on the type and condition of the crack. Epoxy injection is commonly used when bonding and sealing a suitable crack is the objective, while polyurethane injection can be appropriate where flexibility and water sealing are important. We evaluate the crack before recommending the appropriate repair method.
Can you remove an existing coating before installing a new floor?
Yes. We can remove or mechanically prepare existing coatings when necessary. Proper preparation of the existing surface is essential for achieving good adhesion and long-term performance of the new system.
Do you offer decorative flake floors?
Yes. We offer full-flake and decorative flake floor systems in a variety of colors and blends. These systems provide a durable, attractive, and easy-to-maintain finish for garages and other residential or commercial spaces.
Do I need to move everything out before my project?
For the best results, the installation area should be clean and free of personal belongings, vehicles, and other items before work begins. We can discuss preparation requirements during your estimate based on your specific project.
